Viva Columbia!
It's that time of year again, sports fans. The weather is changing, school is starting, and Columbia has come back to life. This can only mean one thing: time for the shutterbug slam-fest of the century!
That's right, the F-Stop is holding its very first photo contest, Viva Columbia! We want to see our fair city put on display. Everything from architecture to social gatherings is fair game, so show us what you've got. There will be separate categories for film and digital, and both groups will be competing for thousands of dollars in prizes. Just read the contest rules, fill out the entry form, and either mail or drop off your photo. But the fun doesn't stop there, no sir!

Viva Film Bash
On Octorber 4th, we'll be throwing a swinging party to announce our winners in style. There'll be music, food, art, and more. It won't cost a cent to hang, but throughout the night we'll be hosting more competitions for even more prizes. The price of participation may vary, but all proceeds will benefit our pals at the United Way. Don't you want to support a good cause? All the hep cats are doing it! Doors open at 9pm at the fabulous Five Points shop, so be sure to mark your calendars. You won't want to miss it.

Welcome to the F-Stop!
Please Note: This site is a work in progress! If it looks wonky in your browser, please contact us and let us know!
At the F-Stop, we believe that there's no such thing as an obsolete camera. Digital photography is all well and good, and we use it when it suits the project. We even sell some digital cameras and provide digital services. But that doesn't mean that film is anywhere near becoming obsolete.
I thought film was dead and buried!
No, sir. Film has a long and vibrant future ahead of it. Not only does it offer a certain organic aesthetic quality that digital just can't match, there's also something meditative and downright magical about developing your own photographs in the darkroom.
The Common Good.
Call us dreamers, visionaries, idealists... We'd like that. Our goal is to make photography accessible and enjoyable for everyone. To this end, we offer a public darkroom, a fully equipped lighting studio, inexpensive equipment and fun, cheap classes for all experience levels. No matter where you are on your photographic journey, the F-Stop has something that will help you take the next step! So give us a call, shoot us an email or give us a visit and have a free cup of coffee and some interesting conversation.
