While taking a nap running some numbers at the shop on Monday, FedEx came by and dropped off a shipment I have been waitiing for for about 3 weeks now. We now stock Efke ASA 25 and ASA 50 film! This film is incredible; it has a super high silver content for superior image quality, and its slow speed is perfect for creating narrow depth of field on really bright, sunny days. The box it came in also stunk of onions, so there’s that too. After haunting one side of the shop for 2 full days, the aroma has at last departed.
Other exciting news! We have B&W Super 8 film! AND– On Friday, we’re receiving a shipment of B&W 8mm roll film. So for all you aspiring (and now with the coming of summer, prespiring) film makers, come down to the shop this weekend and pick up film; we should be offering developing services for black and white motion picture film in the next month or so.
Now that it is beach visiting season, before you head to the shore, don’t forget to grab your skylight filter and a couple of rolls of Fuji Velvia 50! If you’re looking for those rich warm tones that you used to only get with Kodak’s Kodachrome film, be sure to stop by and pick up some Velvia (we also carry ASA 100).
Me and Aaron had a very interesting morning! We went before the zoning appeals board and got approved to 1) sell used equipment and 2) to run a business with only 6 parking spaces. We were very relieved. Suing the city of Columbia is not exactly at the top of my things-that-happen-in-2008-that-conveniently-also-make-me-happy list.
However, while waiting for a business consultation, we were blessed with having a very sunburned man burst open the doors to the Columbia Chambers of Commerce and announce to the room (Me, Aaron, and a secretary) that there were people missing…but that God was not. At this point, he turned to me, accused me of losing a lot of weight…and also being the guy from Blues Traveller. I think. He then told me that I should take off my clothes and let the breeze flow over body, because it was the Lord’s breeze…He then asked me for a cigarette, accused me of being a non-smoker, accused himself of being a lunatic, and then proceeded to ask me and Aaron to vote for him for Governor, at which point, he left.
I don’t think I’ve ever been so terrified.

We are on our third day of being open now! We have three Omega D enlargers in our darkroom and we project that we will have the facilities up and running by the end of the month for public use. It should be noted though, that we are working on a way to get everything done sooner–so keep checking back. because I will probably be posting more regularly now. To hold you over until Aaron can post another comic, I’m posting this little gem I found the other day…

I honestly can not stop laughing… just the mention of it makes me crack up.
